How position sizing works

What is position sizing?

Position sizing is the process of determining how many shares or units can be traded based on a predefined amount of portfolio risk and the distance between the entry and stop-loss prices.

How is the position quantity calculated?

The calculator divides the available risk budget by the modeled loss per unit, including configured variable costs and estimated slippage. It also compares that result with the configured exposure limit.

Does leverage reduce trading risk?
