How to use Smart PDF Toolkit
- 1Choose a tool (Compress, Merge, Split, Organize, Edit, Images to PDF, PDF to Images or Extract Text) and drop in your file.
- 2Adjust the options. For example, enter a target size in MB to compress, type page ranges like 1-3, 5 to split, or select page thumbnails to rotate, delete or reorder.
- 3Click the action button and watch the progress. You can cancel at any time.
- 4Download the result, or use 'Continue with this PDF' to run another step, such as compress and then add page numbers.
- 5Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. Encrypted PDFs are not supported and scanned PDFs have no selectable text to extract.

What you can do with this PDF toolkit
Eight tools in one workspace: compress, merge, split, organize pages, edit (page numbers, text watermark, document info), images to PDF, PDF to images, and extract text. Everything runs in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to a server.
How to compress a PDF to a target size
- Open Compress PDF and choose Image compression.
- Enter a target size in MB, for example 2, or leave it blank to use the quality and resolution sliders.
- Click Start. The tool tries progressively lower quality and resolution until the file fits, and shows the closest size it reached if the target is not possible.
- Compare the original and output sizes, then download the result.
Image compression or lossless rewrite?
Image compression turns each page into an image, which can shrink scanned or image-heavy PDFs a lot, but text is no longer selectable and links or form fields are not kept. Lossless rewrite keeps the document structure but often saves little. If the result is not smaller than your original, the tool tells you.
Organize, split and convert
Organize PDF shows page thumbnails so you can select pages, rotate, delete, duplicate and move them, with undo. Split PDF can extract a page range, split every page, split every N pages, or split into several ranges as a ZIP. PDF to Images exports pages as JPG or PNG at 72 to 300 DPI, and Images to PDF builds a PDF from JPG, PNG or WebP files with A4, Letter or fit-to-image pages.
Limits
Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Extract Text reads selectable text only and has no OCR, so scanned pages return nothing. Edit PDF adds page numbers, a text watermark and document info; it does not edit existing text. Very large files depend on your device's memory (limit 100 MB per file).
