How to resize an image online

1. Drop one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images into the tool.
2. Choose a mode: exact pixels (with aspect ratio lock), a percentage, or a social media preset such as a YouTube thumbnail or Instagram square.
3. Pick an output format and quality. To hit a file-size target, enter a maximum size in KB.
4. Click resize, then download each image or all of them as a ZIP.

Resize an image to a specific file size

Enter a maximum size in KB and the tool lowers JPG or WebP quality until the file fits. If the size cannot be reached at your chosen dimensions, it tells you so; reducing the width and height usually helps most. PNG is lossless, so the size limit does not apply to it.

Good to know

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp, but enlarging a small image cannot add detail and may look soft. Fit modes decide what happens when the new shape differs from the original: fill stretches, contain adds a background color, and cover crops.
